Christmas. Family. Celebrations. So much of life is a surprise. The unexpected hits us like a train on a random Tuesday afternoon and we are forever changed. But in the end, we must endure the pain to appreciate the joy. Endure the sorrow to appreciate the love.
As this year winds down, I am reflecting on all that has happened -and entreating myself to go forth with ever more faith in those I love. Faith in God that goodness and justice will prevail. And a concerted effort to live a life of value and kindness and goodness.
I am not perfect -- but in 2011, I will strive to live like Christ. I will strive to remember those that are forgotten. I will strive to always see the good in my fellow man. And I will strive to remember what incredible grace every fellow human being possesses.
